What could be better than getting out and discovering new places, new perspectives, new skills and amazingly fresh air?! I love to find new hiking trails, hot springs, campgrounds, farmers markets, live entertainment, and any new skill to acquire. Some of my favorite explorations have been to Banff, Canada; the Pacific coast, Priest Lake, Chinook Pass, Glacier National Park and southern Utah. What were some of your favorite places to discover? I am all ears!!

Family means sooo much to me. We're a tight knit team to encourage each other, laugh, cry, and enjoy life together. Family is my core community for personal growth, deepening my faith, and making life abundantly full. I love time spent with family whether we are renting a beach house together, weeding and planting seeds in the home garden or simply laughing it up with games around the dining table.

Fireworks are high energy art in the sky with a side of adrenaline and danger. Pyrotechnics caught my attention early in life and have grown into a professionally licensed hobby. I have been entertaining audiences with fireworks professionally now for 20 years with shows in Pullman, WSU football games, Spokane, St. Maries Idaho, Olympia, Lacey, Shelton, Yakima, over the Grand Coulee Dam, and at dozens of Tacoma Rainiers and Spokane Indians baseball games.

Where is your favorite place to camp?
As long as I can remember, I have been in love with camping and campfires. Growing up, my family instilled the value of being out in nature. It is there we would share life around the crackle of a campfire before a night under the stars. Campfires have become a central point in the deep friendships I have developed. Now, I am pleased to pass on the values of a campfire and being outside with my own family.

I spent a fair amount of time in Pullman in order to get my Master of Architecture degree. While there, I was in the Cougar Marching Band and various sport pep bands. It's fair to say, the Cougar spirit runs deep. Nowadays I get to take trips back to Pulman/ Moscow for photography and FIREWORKS! Yep, that's right, I volunteer to set up and shoot off the fireworks at most home football games!

After graduating from high school, I was introduced to swing dancing. Unlike awkward high school dances, swing dancing had formal steps and moves that actually made sense to me. As a trumpet player I love the 1930's, 40's, 50's music often played at social swing dances and look forward to live bands. If you have been to any swing dance clubs in Spokane, CDA, Pullman/ Moscow, Yakima, or Olympia, chances are, my wife and I were there.

My Photography Journey
2006 Taught myself camera and Photoshop for architecture courses and PNW landscape hikes.
2008 Friends asked me to shoot their graduation portraits just because I had a "nice" camera. I loved it!
2009 Took a photography course at WSU, won my first competition, and shot my first wedding.
2010-2015 Kept learning through books, magazines, and online resources — including my first wedding photography course.
2011 Named the WSU Cougar Marching Band Photographer
2015 Made it official and got my business license.
2016 Got proactive about marketing — built my first website and learned SEO and web design.
2018 The breakthrough year: online visibility took off, and I photographed weddings and sessions all year long.
2019 Signed up for a deep course on business, SEO, and website optimization — so people like you can actually find me now.
2019 Took a posing and client experience class to improve your session and your final images.
2020 Rolled out a brand-new website with a much better user experience. Still proud of this one.
2020 Took a pricing course to set fees that meet my goals without burning out — meaning better service for you.
2021 Studied lighting and location to shoot great images efficiently in any setting.
2022 Took an off-camera lighting course for late-night and indoor weddings — this set the stage for dramatic sports photos.
2024 Trained AI to match my editing style, so galleries deliver faster without sacrificing quality.
2025 Dove into formal sports team, individual, and headshot photography, while taking a dramatic sports photography course.
2026 Launched dramatic sports sessions and took a photo composition course, because learning is a joy that never ends.
Nate FAR exceeded our expectations! The photos are gorgeous, and his prices are very reasonable. He is extremely easy to work with and provided photo shoot advice/clothing suggestions, etc. Digital prints were sent very quickly, including his sending a sample preview the same evening when asked. Would definitely choose Nate again for any graduation, wedding or other special photo shoot!!!

I never really had a clear idea on who I wanted as my photographer for my grad photo shoot. After some Google searching, I found Nate and looked over his work. Holy dang, his college grad photos are great!
