I love to find new hiking trails, hot springs, campgrounds, farmers markets, live entertainment, and any new skill to acquire. Some of my favorite explorations have been to Banff, Canada; the Pacific coast, Priest Lake, Chinook Pass, and Glacier National Park. What were some of your favorite places to discover? I am all ears!!

Family means sooo much to me. This is home, comfort, authenticity at its worst and its finest. Family is my core community for personal growth, deepening my faith, and making life abundantly full. I love time spent with family whether we are renting a beach house together, weeding and planting seeds in the home garden or simply laughing it up with games around the dining table.

Fireworks are high energy art in the sky with a side of adrenaline and danger. Pyrotechnics caught my attention early in life and has grown into a professionally licensed hobby. I have been entertaining audiences with fireworks professionally now for 17 years with shows in Pullman, WSU football games, Spokane, St. Maries, Olympia, Lacey, Shelton, Yakima, over the Grand Coulee Dam, and at dozens of Tacoma Rainiers and Spokane Indians baseball games.

Where is your favorite place to camp?
As long as I can remember, I have been in love with camping and campfires. Growing up, my family instilled the value of being out in nature, sharing life around the crackle of a campfire before a night under the stars. Campfires have become a central point in the deep friendships I have developed. Now, I am pleased to pass on the values of a campfire and being outside with my growing family.

After graduating from high school, I was introduced to swing dancing. Unlike awkward high school dances, swing dancing had formal steps and moves that actually made sense to me. As a trumpet player I love the 1930's, 40's, 50's music often played at social swing dances and look forward to live bands. If you have been to any swing dance clubs in Spokane, CDA, Pullman/ Moscow, Yakima, or Olympia, chances are, my wife and I were there.

The Photography Journey
2006 Self taught to use my camera and Photoshop for my architecture courses in college and the beautiful landscapes I saw while hiking around the PNW.
2008 Friends asked me to take their graduation portraits simply because I had a 'nice' camera. I loved it!
2009 Took a photography course at Washington State University, won my first photography competition, began to offer my services and shot my first wedding!
2010-2015 Continued to learn on my own through books, magazines, and online resources. Somewhere in here, I took my first wedding photography course.
2011 Named the WSU Cougar Marching Band Photographer
2015 I acquired my business license.
2016 Got proactive about marketing myself by building my first website, learning SEO and web design.
2018 The breakthrough year when I began to gain visibility online and shot many beautiful weddings and portrait sessions!
2019 Decided I needed help on my website and marketing and signed up for an incredibly deep course on business, SEO, website design and business optimization. Now it is fairly easy for people like yourself to find me :)
2019 Took a posing and client experience class to improve the way I shoot, your experience, and your final images.
2020 Rolled out a beautiful new website! The new website user experience is soo much better and I am super proud!
2020 Took a pricing course to help me find the best fees to charge in order to meet my family and business goals without burning out. This allows me to offer better services to every client or potential client that comes my way.
2021 Took a lighting and location course to further dial in my skills. This allows me to be more efficient at taking great pictures in any setting I come into. Better for me, better for you!
2022 Took an off camera lighting course to benefit my late night and indoor wedding clients. Although I don't intend to use this skill for most sessions it is nice to have the skill in my back pocket.
Future:
-I am interested in IPS (In Person Sales) either physically or digitally in order to help my clients take their images from a digital file that could so easily be lost to having tangible art pieces to share and enjoy for years to come. I do offer tangible art now but I would like to see art became a more important value added service.
-Expand my landscape photography skills to get back to my first love in photography.
I’m seriously obsessed with my wedding pictures!
Nate did our wedding photos and they turned out amazing! He even knows how to photograph fireworks in such a brilliant way! I recommend him!! We got so many beautiful pictures with both our families and our bridesmaids/ groomsmen! Such great memories all captured for us to enjoy and remember.

Nate did a phenomenal job taking senior pictures of my son! From day one of reaching out to Nate, to the actual photo session, to the final product, he was there every step of the way. His communication leading up to the session was wonderful and full of insightful and creative ideas from locations to outfits. The session itself was actually quite fun as Nate helped my son relax and feel comfortable, and to laugh and be himself. The final product was AMAZING! I thought I had a good idea of what to expect after the session, but the pictures delivered were above and beyond what I had imagined. I am so happy we choose Nate for senior pictures! I never really had a clear idea on who I wanted as my photographer for my grad photo shoot. After some Google searching, I found Nate and looked over his work. Holy dang, his college grad photos are great!
I was sold, emailed him, and booked a date with him. I am usually an awkward person to interact with but Nate was so great to talk to and so fun to work with! And man, does he know what he's doing!

Nate came out in the pouring rain to give me the BEST senior pictures ever!! It was cold and miserable and a super busy moms weekend, but Nate made the session seamless and fun.
