First off, congratulations!!! Hearing or saying yes to the proposal of a lifetime filled with love and support, shared with the person who has become your ultimate partner in life’s adventures is incredible! What a rushing feeling of happiness to know that you are loved and chosen. Share some time with each other then call your closest friends and family to share the exciting news. Enjoy your engagement for a while but then start to discuss wedding plans. So what should you do?
The first thing to do after accepting a proposal is discuss how far off you would like the wedding to be. Are you going to try to get married in a quick couple months or are you looking at a long engagement over 9 months? Once you have decided on your ideal wedding date, your key items to pin down are your venue and photographer. I suggest that you find a venue that best fits the time of year and the way you want to celebrate. Keep in mind that your venue will also be the backdrop for almost all of your wedding pictures. As soon as you have a venue and date, find a photographer. You have a ton of options for talented photographers in the inland northwest but I recommend finding a local engagement photographer whose experience and images you best connect with. Then schedule your engagement picture photo shoot. The engagement photo shoot is a great way to test out your potential wedding photographer. If you have not had professional photos, engagement pictures are a great way to get some experience in front of a camera in a low stress and casual setting before your wedding.
Are you an adventurer? Maybe your adventures involve hiking, camping, going to a farmers market, catching a game at your favorite college, trying a new food or experience. Are you a fun and romantic couple? I would love to be your Spokane engagement photographer! Check out my home page and engagement portfolio!
