Wedding Dance Lessons in Spokane & CDA

If you are looking for wedding dance lessons in Spokane or CDA, you are in the right place! In high school I only knew of the weird body shaking dances that many of you have experienced too. This is not that – thank goodness! After high school I discovered a wonderful world of dancing. Dancing that came with the perfect mix of structured rules but not strict like a line dance or call and respond dance.

Spokane and Coeur d’Alene have a wealth of places to get wedding dance lessons or just dance lessons in general. Either way its well worth the effort to learn new dances no matter where you are in life. If you already have a song you want to use for your first dance, bring it to your instructor and see if they can help you select a dance style to compliment your song.

Formal Wedding Dance Lessons

Ballroom dances are considered formal wedding dances and include Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, Quickstep, Tango, Argentine Tango and an assortment of Latin dances like Cha Cha, Rumba, and Salsa dancing. Theses dances range from smooth and elegant to rhythmic and are considered good options for formal wedding dance lessons.

Social Wedding Dance Lessons

Dances that shift the focus from formal to a social event can be found in a variety of places. You can find from ballrooms to clubs and can be a great source of entertainment throughout your life. Social dances can include the formal ballroom dances but are typically East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Jive, Jitterbug, Country Swing, and Night Club 2-Step. Theses dances range from smooth as butter to fun with high energy and are considered good options for relaxed social wedding dance lessons where you expect to be smiling and laughing a lot.

Where to go for Wedding Dance Lessons in Spokane

  1. If you are looking for the myriad of swing dance lessons, look no further than Strictly Swing in Spokane. You will find Lindy Hop, East Coast Swing, Balboa and many other greats. I have attended many of these lessons and dances. If you are a human, you can not leave there without having had a great time.
  2. For the smooth and sexy West Coast Swing, check out the Spokane Swing Dance Club. I have not personally been to this group but I can say that dancing is fun no matter where you go. I learned west coast swing in college at Washington State University and loved it. West coast has a good mix of modern, formal and fun that makes it a great dance for weddings. In fact my wife and I danced West Coast swing for our first dance to Michael Buble’s Feeling Good.
  3. Vintage Swing Spokane is a solid place to learn truly vintage swing dancing. Their big annual dance is the Vintage Swing Festival. Bands are brought in and the dancing goes late in the night, even all night sometimes! I have been to several of these dances and can say, this is a wonderful place to learn and grow.
  4. Over at Dance Class Spokane you will find many of the formal dances as well as social dances. This group has the experience to take you far in your dancing journey as well as introduce you to many dances as a beginner.
  5. Want to try a Latin dance or Argentine Tango? check out Satori! Let me tell you – Argentine Tango is sharp – it looks sooo good – but be ready for putting in some time to learn this dance.
  6. Two Left Feet Dance is a local service with seasoned and awarded instructors with a passion for dancing and teaching. You can have private lessons or bring your whole wedding party to learn almost any social or ballroom dance.
