Manito Park was officially established in April of 1904 and has evolved to become one of Spokane’s primary showplaces. This park has five unique garden areas recognized for its diverse horticultural collections. The Parks and Recreation Department maintains the park’s native and cultivated landscape and its gorgeous botanical gardens. Manito Park weddings also feature Mirror Pond. Mirror Pond is a popular location for visitors who enjoy watching ducks and other wildlife. Another area is Park Bench Cafe which is open for light meals. Loop Drive and Bridge feature majestic views of the Rose Garden. Upper and Lower Playgrounds are favorite spots for families, and the Gaiser Conservatory features beautiful floral displays that change seasonally.
Couples can exchange their vows in the serene Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden or say “I Do” on the sprawling East Lawn. The Duncan Garden feels like a destination wedding, with classic European, Renaissance-style surroundings.

That includes over 70 acres of park space for events. Also included are five awe-inspiring gardens with chic outdoor style.
Event spaces include the Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden, East Lawn, and Duncan Garden. The event capacity at this garden venue is 200-300 guests.
Duncan Garden is a European Renaissance-style garden with a gazebo that can hold up to 100 guests. The Davenport Fountain can accommodate up to 50 guests. However, couples provide the chairs at this location. The Ferris (Perennial) Garden features the Southwest by Statue, which can host up to 100 guests, and the North End with Bench, which can host up to 100 people. The Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden can accommodate up to 30 guests, and no pets or amplified sounds are permitted. Furthermore, these serene gardens symbolize friendship and the inspiring tranquility of nature.
The Rose Hill Garden features 150 hybrid tea varieties, grandiflora, floribunda, and miniature roses. The Erna Bert Nelson Pergola, Centennial Pergola, and Gazebo can be used for weddings and host 125 guests. Conveniently, each of these areas has parking and restrooms nearby.
The Lilac Garden is home to a varietal called the Syringa vulgaris “Spokane,” a lovely new double pink lilac. This space has a capacity of 125 guests and has restrooms nearby. Altogether, the Lilac Garden is most beautiful in the spring when flowers bloom.
Reception Areas
Receptions can happen at the Manito East Lawn or the Rotary Club Shelter. The Manito East Lawn is located on the east side of Duncan Garden and features 96,000 square feet of natural beauty. This venue features electric and water connections, amplified sound, and catering or food trucks. The Rotary Club Shelter is a reception space with a picnic area. Additionally, this Manito Park wedding area features six built-in barbecue pits, grills, and picnic tables with benches and can accommodate up to 300 guests.
Photography Opportunities
There are many unique photo options at the Manito Park wedding venue. Lush greenery, vibrant blooms, sunlight, sprawling lawns, fountains, pathways, arches, and towering trees make stunning backdrops for elegant wedding photos. In one corner you may find an intimate bench to sneak some candid shots. Meanwhile, the stone bridge offers a few non-greenery backdrops. Start on top of it or go down into the garden and use it to frame a few magical shots. In another area, a willow tree offers an intimate location to catch some photos with beautiful branches hanging around the newlyweds.
Furthermore, couples can pose among the flowers, meander along private pathways, embrace in front of the fountain, and say their vows under a floral arch or gazebo. They can also celebrate with their friends and family, surrounded by sunlight and vibrant blooms. One of these incredible flowery locations includes the fountain. Services include electrical access, amplified sound, pop-up tents, inflatables, canopies, and caterers. Furthermore, services and amenities are available individually for additional fees.
