Part romantic, part adventure, Alex and Andrew were such a joy to photograph! It is a lot of fun when the photographer and clients click and we did right away. After leaving the early fall snows at higher elevations in Pullman, WA, I dropped into the enchanting Snake river canyon where a light mist was slowly saturating the earth. The colors, smells and light were magical! I was super excited to take Alex and Andrews pictures as we had previously discussed a desire for more of an adventure session then typical of engagement portraits. We started their engagement picture session at Wawawai Landing County Park with lots of movement and some classic portraits as we explored a grassy hillside that overlooked the river. Later we explored the forested campgrounds and talked about fun to be had camping here. I have spent many college nights camping along the Snake river and absolutely love waking up to the sounds of the wind in the trees, the birds singing and the gentle water splashing along the shore.
To finish their engagement pictures, Alex, Andrew and I caravanned our way back up to Pullman’s Lawson Gardens. Lawson Gardens is a beautiful place for photos year round and this time around we were greeted with rich canopies of red, yellow and orange leaves. Walking through meandering paths of densely lush gardens I intentionally made time for the couple to simply hold and enjoy each other, taking in deep breaths of the crisp fall air and falling even more in love with each other.
